Victoria Islamic Center looks for ways to educate community

A representative meet with members of the Victoria Islamic Center to discuss plans on relieving tension in the community after the recent mosque fire.

Conciliation specialist with the u-s department of justice met with board members and the congregation this evening and discussed plans of community dialogue, training and educating the community on the Muslim religion.

“I hope that we can leverage some of those ideas and call on her when some of those needs arise as she has done in other communities and be able to utilize those things to alleviate any concerns people may have,” Congregation Member, Omar Rashid said.

The representative will continue working on plans to bring the mosque members, other agencies and local schools together for informative, educational events.
