Victoria ISD bond task force proposes rebuilding two campuses
VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria I.S.D. school board meets Tuesday to workshop a proposal put together schools district’s bond task force.
The proposal includes the rebuilding of Stroman Middle School and Mission Valley Elementary School, said Greg Bonewald, Victoria I.S.D. deputy superintendent of operations.
“Approximately $157,000,000, which includes funds to rebuild Stroman Middle School, rebuild Mission Valley Elementary, to do priority repairs across the district, you know we’ve got 15 campuses that are 50 years old or older.” Bonewald said in an interview Friday morning.
The board will also hold a special meeting on February 9 to consider adding the bond proposal in the 2021 May election. The deadline to be added is February 12. Early voting would take place April 19 through April 27 and the deadline to register to vote is April 1.
Election Day is May 1, 2021.

In 2017, voters rejected a $141.2 million facilities bond. Fifty-seven percent of Victoria County voters voted against it; 43 percent voted for the 2017 bond.
