Victoria ISD board to workshop proposed rezoning changes

Demographer to present data used by taskforce at upcoming board meeting

boundary changes

VICTORIA, Texas – For parents that weren’t able to make it to the two public forums held last week about the proposed rezoning changes, they may want to consider attending upcoming Victoria school district board meeting where VISD board members will workshop the proposed boundary changes for at least 450 elementary school students.

Shawna Currie, Communications Director for Victoria ISD, says it will be the board’s first time to work on the proposed changes as a group because of open meeting requirements.

“Members of the taskforce will be there, our demographer will be there also to present the demographic information that the taskforce based their decision on and essentially its an opportunity for them to  look at all of the information and ask questions and to really dig deep into that data and into that information,” Currie said.

Victoria ISD board members will either choose to move forward or make another recommendation mostly likely during a special meeting the following week, Currie said.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Victoria ISD Administration Building, located 102 N. Profit Drive, Victoria, TX 77901. For more information go here.
