Victoria ISD art students work to show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Here is a list of the art pieces that will advance

VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria ISD art students recently participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s School Art Competition. About 60 artworks, out of the many students who participated, were chosen to represent Victoria ISD in Houston on Saturday, Jan. 8.
Nine out of the 60 pieces of art will advance to the next level of competition. The NRG Center in Houston will then display those art pieces for the duration of the Houston Rodeo from Monday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 20.
The following pieces were selected for advancement:

Elementary Best of Show
Bethany Matula, first grade, O’Connor Elementary School

Victoria ISD thanks Ms. Coyle (VEHS), Ms. Valdez, (VWHS), Ms. Reed (Cade), Ms. Narvaez (O’Connor) and the rest of the district’s amazing art teachers for their role in these students’ great achievements.
The Victoria ISD Fine Arts Department also hosted a Western Art Show on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Victoria Art League. Western Artworks completed by students across the district were on display.
The Fine Arts Department thanks Claire Santellana, Nathan Rodriguez and the Victoria Art League for lending their space for the art show.
