Victoria I.S.D. middle school student had to go to a local hospital after a school fight
"I talked to the teachers for the sixth grade... and basically, there will be no more consequences for these girls."
VICTORIA, Texas – A Victoria I.S.D middle school student had to visit a local hospital after being involved in a school fight. The fight got so bad, that the student developed kidney issues as a result.
12-year-old Stroman Middle School student, Jordan Fox, says the fight occurred after one of her classes around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6. The video shows Fox walking away when an 8th-grade student runs up behind her and hits her.
Fox had to go to the hospital around 7 p.m. that same day after experiencing pain in her lower back.
Doctors told Fox she suffered a lacerated kidney as a result of the fight.
Fox says the student who hit her was suspended for three days and placed in ISS (in-school suspension) for one day as a consequence.
Jordan’s Grandmother, Lorraine Robles, says she wants administrators to take more action against those responsible for hurting her daughter.
“They’re not gonna do anything about it. I mean it basically this morning when I took her to school because she was afraid to go to school. It makes her sick just driving up to the school, you know, she’s afraid that these girls are going to do this again to her. I talked to the teachers for the sixth grade, I guess she’s the principal and basically, there will be no more consequences for these girls,” says Robles.
Fox says she didn’t want to go to the hospital but the pain became unbearable.
“I don’t like hospitals so it was bad and it was hurting like where my back is, like my lower back”
We reached out to the Victoria I.S.D. a spokesperson says they’re aware of the fight but the district cannot discuss disciplinary action involving students.
