Victoria Hurricanes take down defending C.R.A.F.L. Bowl champions

The Victoria Hurricanes semi-professional football team had their second game of the season Saturday at Patti Welder Stadium. They took on the defending C.R.A.F.L. Bowl champions, the South Texas Bonecrushers.

The Hurricanes won 22-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Their defense put points on the board first with a safety, then Deion Boyd’s 74-yard punt return for a touchdown gave the Hurricanes a 9-0 lead to start the game. Quarterback Showtime Williams threw two touchdown passes, including a 5-yard pass to Desmond Sanders and a 65-yard pass to Keith Hradek. The Hurricanes shutout the Bonecrushers 22-0 to win their second game in a row.

Next Saturday, the Hurricanes will face another undefeated team, the San Antonio Assassins (2-0). The two teams will face off at Patti Welder Stadium at 7 p.m.
