Victoria Hurricanes Remain Undefeated

The semi-professional football team, the Victoria Hurricanes, have been ranked number one in the state for six weeks straight. They hope to hold onto that spot after taking down the Wharton County Panthers, 20-14, on Saturday at Patti Welder Stadium. The Hurricanes remain undefeated at 7-0.

The team also continued its tradition of raising awareness at halftime. On Saturday, they honored 15 students from Patti Welder Middle School. The students were Board of Excellence award members. They were also student council members, who were awarded the best project statewide when they worked on a project tackling the issues of bullying and breast cancer awareness.
