Victoria Holiday Trash Schedule

(VICTORIA, TEXAS) All non-emergency City offices will be closed Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26 for the Christmas holidays.

Residential trash collection, yard waste and curbside recycling collection will be picked up as scheduled.

Extra Trash Collection the week following Christmas

The Solid Waste Dept. will accommodate customers with additional garbage from the Christmas holiday by offering extra trash collection Monday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 30, 2016.

Residents are asked to put extra holiday trash in plastic garbage bags or standard trash cans no larger than 45 gallons by 7 a.m. on their normal yard waste collection day.

If your trash and yard waste is normally collected on the same day, please place any additional Christmas trash at least 5 feet from your City-issued trash cart.

Place carts in front of the curb/gutter and/or street with the wheels/handle facing the residence. Cart lids must be completely closed. Carts must have a 5 ft. clearance between all City issued carts and any additional trash cans or other obstacles.

Yard Waste, Brush & Bulky Item Collection

PLEASE NOTE: The Solid Waste Dept. will temporarily halt yard waste and brush collection from Monday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, 2016 to accommodate residents with additional garbage from the Christmas holiday. Yard waste and brush collection will resume on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

Christmas Tree Collection

Live Christmas trees will be collected as yard waste beginning on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Only live trees will be collected. Please make sure that all decorations and metal or wood stands are removed prior to setting it out for collection. Flocked trees (covered with fake snow) will not be collected, as these cannot be processed into compost.

Additional Recycling

The City will not be picking up extra recycling the week following Christmas. However, extra recycling can be taken to the Waste Management Recycling Center, located at 809 N. George St., on the 1 st Saturday of the month from 9 am to 1 pm. Those using the Center must be a City of Victoria resident with a current driver’s license and must bring a copy of a City utility bill for verification.
