Victoria Fire Department swears in new employees, honors achievements
Inceptions, recognition and farewells transpired during the Victoria Fire Department ceremony
The Victoria Fire Department swore in eight trainees Friday, April 30 during a ceremony held at the Victoria County Community Center. The trainees were sworn in by Administrative Assistant Debbie Breeden.
The newcomers will now begin a six-month probationary period, which they will operate as Victoria Fire Department employees and receive additional hands-on training.
Firefighter/ EMT David Willis was recognized during the ceremony for his completion of the six-month probationary period. This recognition affirms that Willis has completed the necessary training to function independently as a member of the Victoria Fire Department. Willis began his career with the fire department in October 2020.
The fire department also bid farewell to longtime administrative inventory specialist, Adrienne Willis.
Willis will now be the Procurement Specialist with the City of Victoria Purchasing Department. In this role, she will issue purchasing orders for the City and provide assistance to the City of Victoria print shop. Willis had been with the Victoria Fire Department since July 2017.
