Victoria elections office in need of judges and poll workers

Needing election judges to be appointed for a 1 year term, as well as poll workers to assist in the following elections, September 1, 2017 thru August 31, 2018. Your term would include the November 7, 2017, Constitutional Amendment Election, March 6, 2018, Primary Election & May 22, 2018, Primary Runoff Election.

Training will be provided for these elections. If you want to help you should contact the Election Office at 2805 N. Navarro, Suite 500 or call us at 576-0124. There is paperwork to complete and you’ll need to bring your drivers’ license or personal identification card and your Social Security Card. Election Judges are paid $9.50 & workers 9.00 per hour for work at the polls and for training. Election Judges & workers must be registered voters in the county.

You may work at a polling location close to your home, within your voting precinct, or you may work at another location within the county. Some polling locations are very busy. Every location will allow Victoria County registered voters to cast a vote. Training sessions for poll workers will be held before the elections. The date, times and place will be given to those who sign up.

The Secretary of State also offers online training. You may go to the Elections Division for the Secretary of State’s Office and locate Online Poll Worker Training. Currently the state is updating the site and it will be available soon.
