Titans girls basketball team heading to Corpus Christi for the playoffs to take on Brownsville Veterans Memorial

VICTORIA,Texas– The Victoria East Titans defeated Laredo Martin 78-38 . They will travel back to Corpus Christi King on Tuesday for the next round of playoffs against Brownsville Veterans Memorial. Due to the inclement weather the game time has moved up an hour. Titans head coach Yulonda Wimbish-North said they need to keep playing the same way they always do.

“We’re in the playoffs, it’s win or go home. So we have to play Lady Titans basketball and that’s what I’m telling them. We have to do what we do. I’m excited for Tuesday,” said Wimbish-North.

The Titans won their first round playoff game on Thursday on the road in Corpus Christi. The Titans demolished Laredo Martin by 50 points. Brandalyn Rice outscored the opposing team herself with 33 points.

” I thought the kids came out with great energy, we created turnovers . We were able to play at a fast pace which we like to do. I feel that everyone that came in made a positive contribution so it was a great team effort,” continued Wimbish-North.

With a win Tuesday, the Titans will advance to the next round.
