Victoria East and West district swim meet results

VICTORIA, Texas — A district swim meet was held Thursday, January 20, at the VISD Aquatic Center.

Overall for the girls division, the El Campo Ricebirds won first, Victoria East Lady Titans win silver, Bay City Lady Cats finished with bronze and Victoria West Lady Warriors ends in 4th.

For the boys, Victoria West finished with the gold, El Campo takes silver, Bay City matches the girls and takes bronze.

In the Individual events, West boys swimmer Branton Rainey took first in the 200 and 500 freestyle, Samir Shamma took first in the 200 IM and 100 breast stroke, Jackson Quincy finished in 2nd in the 100 back stroke and Zachery Zamykia took 3rd in the same event.

For the girls individual results, Shelby Travis of West took first in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle which are both meet records. East freshman Alison Berger took second in the 200 IM (which is a school record) and 2nd in the 200 freestyle, 3rd in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM relay. Audrey Belvin took 2nd  in the 200 IM relay and 3rd in 200 freestyle relay,  she also set a school record in the 100 breast stroke.

Lastly, Victoria East coach Courtney Tully won the girls coach of the district.
