Victoria East and West continue their crosstown rivalry for The Boot
In the 11th year of their ongoing rivalry Titans and Warriors will battle Friday night
Tensions are rising in Victoria as we draw closer to the battle of the boot. This will be the eleventh time that these teams have met, so far the East leads the series 7-3. The Victoria West Warriors lost the last two years to the Victoria East Titans in their district crosstown rivalry game. However West won their game last week against King. The Titans lost their last two. Courtney Boyce and the Warriors knows it’s their biggest regular season game they have and just like at the end of any district game they want to go 2-0.
“I think we gotta be very disciplined. They do a very good job offensively and mix it up and I think we gotta do a good job of reading our keys and running the football,” said Boyce.
Boyce said they just have to go out and expect to make plays and the key is to work together. the Warriors are hoping to finally take The Boot back to their campus.
Warriors receiver La’Trell Barfield wants to bring that boot back to West.
“We’re just going to keep following the coach’s plan and working hard at practice. It’ll be very big for us we could just get the boot and just beat them,” said Barfield.
