Victoria County Sheriff’s Deputies looking for stolen car suspect

VICTORIA, TX – On January 26, 2017 around 4:46am a Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a defective license plate light in the 3500 block of US Highway 59 South.

The vehicle, a 2006 white GMC truck refused to stop and began to flee from the deputy. A supervising deputy utilized a spike strip to deflate the tires on vehicle.

The vehicle stopped at the intersection of Loop 463 and Coletoville Road. When the vehicle came to a stop, the driver fled on foot and deputies lost sight of him in heavy brush.

The driver is a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5′ 8″ wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

It was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen in Houston, Texas.

The area was searched extensively for the driver, but he was not located. It has been observed in similar situations that the offender is picked up later.
