Victoria County reports 24 new cases of COVID-19
VICTORIA, Texas — Hours after Victoria Office of Emergency Management officials addressed the media due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the county reported 24 new cases of the novel coronavirus.
The new numbers bring the county’s total to 165 active cases, with 269 active cases in the Golden Crescent. The county also reported nine new recoveries on Tuesday.
Public Health leaders said at Tuesday afternoon’s press briefing that they encouraged everyone in Victoria County to wear a mask when in public and continue social distancing measures as long as possible. County personnel said that due to a recent increase in social engagements, they expected COVID-19 numbers to continue to rise.
