Victoria County CERT training this Saturday

The Victoria County Office of Emergency Management will be conducting free training to residents that would like to be able to assist the community in the event of a major Emergency or major events.

The Emergency Management team training is open to the public.

Trainees will receive training in basic fire suppression, basic first aid, search and rescue, how to assist police officers and how to stay safe.

The training will be Saturday January 28th, February 4th and February 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“Essentially they’re boots on the ground whenever first responders cant respond to an event or an incident that happens to the community. So they’re people with a disaster response with basic knowledge of what to do in a situations,” said Public Health Preparedness Coordinator Jena West.
