Victoria County were previously placed on the list due to high emission levels.
County commissioners have requested the state remove the county from the list to allow the county more economic freedom and the ability to build and develop without restriction.
“[It’s] difficulty with regard to building standards and hoops we have to jump through,” explained County Judge Ben Zeller. “So, the City of Victoria is taking the lead on this effort. We’re supporting this bill. It’ll be better for the community and help more effectively promote economic growth.
Representative Gennie Morrison has sponsored and offered her support for the house bill to remove the county from the emissions reduction plan list.
