Victoria Country Club hosting All-Pro Tour
The All-Pro Tour set to start Wednesday
VICTORIA,Texas– It was a windy day on Tuesday at the Victoria Country Club for the Pro- Am tournament. The tournament was just one day before the start of the All-Pro Tour, set to start on Wednesday, April 7th.
A Pro- Am is where professional golfers take the course with golfers like you and just have fun. The amateurs learn golfing tips along the way. Digital and communications producer, Hagan Parkman explained what the All-Pro Tour organization is about.
“APT, we are a professional golf tour and we travel to different states and places to give these guys training grounds. We provide the course, the range balls and all the set up. Everything you see at the course is everything we brought and set up,” said Parkman.
This was not the first time PGA member Jacob Bergeron has played with amateurs. He said giving out tips is the least he can do since he is fortunate enough to play this game for a living.
“A lot of the time it’s not overly complicated, it’s more of ball position posture and set up, little things like that. You don’t have to do a whole lot just let the athlete come out,” said Bergeron.
Amateur golfer John Michael Urbano says he put those tips from Bergeron into good use and hopes those tips will help him in the future.
“The thing that was fantastic, was that Bergeron was very hands on. He helped us with our shots and he helped us become better golfers. Next time the other guys are going to have to buy lunch when we play against each other” said Urbano.
The tournament is scheduled to start at 7:30 April 7 and a champion will be crowned April 10. Fans are encouraged to attend. Winner will take home a $20,000 prize.
