Victoria Beauty College gave foster children free services for back to school
VICTORIA, Texas — The Victoria Beauty College spent their day pampering foster children before they head back to school.
Veronica Garcia the Academic Manager at the Victoria Beauty CollegeI said, “I feel giving from our hearts is very special,”.
The Victoria Beauty College and the Department Of Family Services teamed up to provide a back to school pampering day for foster children .
“They are overjoyed you can just see the smiles on their faces when they are running from station to station to get different things done. They are happy, the foster and adopted parents are happy and it’s just a blessing to see that on their faces,” said Linda Edwards
Region 8 Foster Adoption Supervisor.
Each child was able to go from station to station to get a before picture, then a haircut, hair style, colored and their nails polished.
“Once they finish we get an after picture and then we let them pick out bags and blow dryers, curling irons and different things that they would like to take with them,” said Edwards.
As the instructors provided the children with services every child was also able to obtain knowledge about being a hairstylist.
“Their able to play with the mannequins and braid them and know what we do here. So in the future they will come to Victoria Beauty College,” said Garcia.
The organizers hope that this service made every child feel special and loved.
