Victoria Bach Festival presents its musical fundraiser

The fundraiser aims to supports music and education programs

VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria Bach Festival is presenting their musical fundraiser on March 21 in celebration of J.S Bach’s 336th birthday. The birthday bash is a two-hour televised event to raise funds in support of the Festival’s music and education programs.

KAVU’s Ozzy Mora, Geno Perez, Brian Alonzo, and Howard Gordon will host the Bach-a-Thon on KMOL-17 NBC from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 21. The event will include performances and messages from the Festival’s favorite musical artists and will be live-streamed simultaneously on the Victoria Bach Festival’s website, www.victoriabachfestival.org

Viewers will be able to enjoy music while supporting the Festival bounce back from a year in which COVID stopped all live performances. On March 15, the event started an online auction where bidders can get the latest deals on jewelry, fine dining, gift baskets and experiences.

“This is a perfect opportunity to spend time with family, enjoy some wonderful musical performances, and make a donation in support of the Victoria Bach Festival,” said Bill Blanchard, Victoria Bach Festival co-chair.

After a COVID-19 year, the festival looks to come back stronger as Alejandro Hernandez, artistic director, is planning a series of concerts for a socially distanced Festival on June 8-12, in Victoria.

The program will also include one of Mayor Rawley Mccoy’s final interviews. The late mayor describes the importance of the Victoria Bach Festival and remembers being there for the first one in 1976.
