Victoria — People living in the Autumn Park apartments were awakened to the sound of exploding car batteries. Large plumes of smoke could also be seen billowing above the apartment complex about 5:30 am Saturday morning.
The Victoria Police Department received a call about shots fired at the Autumn Park apartments located near Navarro and Mockingbird. But once officers arrived, they discovered two vehicles on fire, one appears to be a truck and the other a car. Both vehicles were badly burned along with the nearby fence.
Officers on the scene said it’s too early to tell why these vehicles caught fire. The explosions heard were the tires and windows bursting because of the intense heat of the fires.
This is a developing story and we’ll keep you updated.
