VCSO says beware of fake warrant calls

The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office received several reports from citizens receiving phone calls from an individual that identified themselves as a Victoria County Sheriff’s Deputy.

This person says that he has warrants for people that have missed court dates or for unpaid traffic tickets.

The Sheriff’s Office will not call you about warrants. We will only make contact with you either in person or by mail. It is the policy of the Sheriff’s Office to not release warrant information over the phone.

If you receive a call telling you that you have a warrant it is most likely a scam. If you are concerned you may call the Sheriff’s Office at 361-575-0651 and speak with either a deputy or with our warrants division to see if they have attempted to contact you.
