VC’s Emerging Technology Complex receives award
Victoria College’s Emerging Technology Complex was named “Best New Venue” in Texas Meetings + Events magazine’s “Best of Texas 2016” readers’ choice awards.
The latest recognition comes just weeks after the Emerging Technology Complex was recognized by the 2016 Architectural Portfolio for Outstanding Design in the November 2016 edition of American School & University magazine.
“This further validates the Emerging Technology Complex as one of the top multipurpose venues in the state,” VC President Dr. David Hinds said. “The facility is only two years old, but has already become a very popular facility in this region for conferences, training programs, meetings and other events.”
“The Emerging Technology Complex is another example of Victoria College’s commitment to providing our community the best in facilities and education,” VC Vice President for College Advancement and External Affairs Jennifer Yancey said.
A half-page photo of the Emerging Technology Complex, which is certified by the International Association of Conference Centers, appears in Texas Meetings + Events’ Winter 2017 edition. Runners-up in the “Best New Venue” category were Canyonwood Ridge and Oak Point Nature & Retreat Center.
“Revealing our readers’ choice award winners is the most exciting moment of our editorial year,” Texas Meetings + Events Editor Laurie L. Dove said. “Our readers – meeting planners, suppliers, vendors and event planners – have cast their votes to honor those who continually go above and beyond, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”
The Emerging Technology Complex, located at 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria, includes a three-story, 72,000-square-foot Conference and Education Center with a meeting hall that can accommodate up to 400 people and a two-story, 44,000-square-foot Industrial Training Center.
