VC women’s basketball wins second-straight conference championship

Victoria College women’s basketball won the conference championship for the second year in a row, in the South Texas Collegiate Club Sports League.

The Pirates cruised through the conference final on Sunday at the University of Incarnate Word. They beat Northwest Vista College, 75-59. Casey Jackson led the team with 22 points. Morgan Trevino added 16 for the Pirates. The Victoria College women defend their conference title and pick up their fourth conference championship in five years.

The Victoria College volleyball team also competed in their conference final on Sunday. They went up against Trinity University. The Pirates’ undefeated season came to an end though, as VC lost the title game in five sets.

The VC men’s basketball team lost in the conference Final Four to Southwest Texas Junior College.
