VC to offer ‘Skills to Pay Bills,’ resume writing workshops
Job-seekers and individuals looking to advance in their career can take advantage of two workshops being offered by Victoria College’s Workforce & Continuing Education Department in August.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, Victoria College will offer a free “Skills to Pay the Bills” workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 302 at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex. The workshop will focus on developing interview and resume-writing techniques. Professionalism in the workplace will also be discussed.
A Resume Writing Workshop will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 307 at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex. The cost for the Resume Writing Workshop is $25.
Participants of the Resume Writing Workshop are encouraged to bring their work history and a previous resume, if available, on a flash drive.
“At the end of the workshop, participants will have created or updated a resume they can use to aid their job search,” said Mary Pullin, program coordinator for VC’s Workforce & Education Department.
For more information or to register for either workshop, call (361) 582-2528 or email Mary.Pullin@VictoriaCollge.edu.
