VC H.S. All-Star Volleyball Game Results

Maroon Team Wins

Wednesday night, the stars came out from area high school volleyball.
Goliad’s Amaya Brown was determined to end her final volleyball game with a smile.

Brown, a Class 3A all-state performer who helped the Tigers win two state championships, led the Maroon to a 25-20, 15-25, 25-19, 25-19 victory over the White in Wednesday night’s Victoria College Chick-fil-A All-Star Game at VC’s Sports Center.

This past season, Brown led the Tigers to the regional final, where they were denied a fourth straight trip to the state tournament in a three-set loss to Industrial.

“I can say I won my last game,” Brown said. “That means a lot. It felt really good to play volleyball one last time. It was fun to play against some of my teammates from Goliad and play with some girls I have played against.”

Brown, who has signed a track and field scholarship with Texas State, said Wednesday night’s matchup featuring the top high school volleyball players in the area was a fun event.

“It was really competitive, but then again we knew we were out here to have fun,” Brown said. “We all knew this was our last game, so we really wanted to enjoy it.”
