VC donates $4,700 to Food Bank of the Golden Crescent from Victoria Empty Bowls fundraiser

VICTORIA, Texas- The Feb. 9th Victoria Empty Bowls event hosted by Victoria College raised $19,600 for local agencies fighting hunger in the Crossroads.

A donation of $4,700 was recently given to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. Pictured holding the $4,700 check is Food Bank of the Golden Crescent President and CEO Robin Cadle.

“We are very grateful to Victoria College and the Victoria Empty Bowls event,” Cadle said. “They bring revenue to us that is so crucial, even more so now with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Cadle.

Victoria College students have been making ceramic bowls all year long just for this event. Attendants purchase a bowl and get to fill it up with soup, which is donated by local restaurants. This event in particular allows the money to stay local which then all proceeds go to local hunger organizations here in Victoria. The Empty Bowls event raises more than $20,000 a year thanks to all the generous people who joined in helping this great cause.
