Vaccine rollout in Victoria County still available despite low demand

Beating COVID-19

VICTORIA County- The Victoria County Public Health Department is scheduled to have one 2nd dose clinic this week on Tuesday, April 6. It has postponed its weekly 1st dose clinic for Thursday, April 8 to April 15.

“We made this decision based on the small number of sign-ups on our COVID vaccine waitlist. The postponement of this week’s clinic will allow the waitlist to increase so that we may best utilize the staff and resources for our mass vaccination hub. With that said, if demand continues to be at this low of a level for the next few weeks, Thursday, April 15 could be our last mass vaccination hub, said David Gonzales, Victoria County Public Health Director. “However, that doesn’t mean that is the public’s last chance to receive a vaccine. The health department will continue to offer COVID vaccines along with all of our other vaccines at our offices and vaccine will continue to be available at pharmacies and healthcare facilities across the region.”
