Updates to visitation hours at local hospitals

Citizens and Detar have updated their visitation hours

VICTORIA, Texas – As June 8th, Citizens Medical Center visiting hours will be from 9 a-m to 6 p-m and patients are allowed one visitor per day. Visitors must always wear a mask while in the facility. Skilled nursing facilities, like nursing homes and long-term health care facilities will still not allow visitors. The reason is because nursing homes and long-term health care facilities house high risk populations. If exposed to covid-19, the consequences could be fatal.

Detar Healthcare Systems will also only allow one visitor per day from 6 a-m to 7 p.m. for outpatient surgery and 1 p.m.- 7 p.m. for inpatient units. Visitors must be 18 years old or older and will be screened using CDC guidelines which includes a temperature check. A mask must always be worn. Patients in respiratory isolation, inpatient rehabilitation, or the emergency department are not allowed visitors.

Safety of patients and staff are the hospitals priority and ask you to continue to wash your hands and practice social distancing while in the hospitals.
