Update: VPD release names of bodies found in Appaloosa Drive home

Update 1/11/19:

The Victoria Police department have released the names and unofficial cause of death for the bodies found inside a home on Appaloosa Drive.

Lieutenant Eline Moya of VPD has confirmed that Charles Thomas Bailey, age 60 from Victoria, and Tracey Lovell, age 44 from Victoria, were found dead Wednesday morning inside Bailey’s home at the 200 block of Appaloosa Drive.

VPD withheld their names originally because the department had a difficult time notifying Lovell’s family, who are located in England. Lovell’s family were notified of her death late Thursday evening.

Moya adds both bodies were found with gunshot wounds.

“Preliminary investigation is where we’re at right now. It’s still an active, open investigation. The female appeared to have suffered from a fatal gun shot wound and the male appeared to have suffered from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. And, that’s where we’re at right now.”

Victoria PD have yet to rule the deaths as a murder-suicide because a medical examiner has not had an opportunity to examine the bodies. The department will release an official cause of death for Lovell and Bailey once the examination is completed.
