UPDATE: Victoria area warming shelter extends hours to Wednesday

An Emergency Warming Center located at Pine Street Community Center, 803 Pine St. in Victoria will be open overnight Tuesday, November 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. and Wednesday, November 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.

The shelter will accept donations of blankets, gloves, thermals, and winter coats. Volunteers and monetary donations are appreciated.

The Victoria Area Homeless Coalition will open a warming shelter when conditions indicate the real feel temperature will reach freezing – 32 degrees or lower – for 2 or more consecutive days.

Victoria Area Homeless Coalition will provide up-to-date details at 361-575-7842 each time the shelter opens and will provide press release details to the local media outlets and 211.

An Emergency Warming Shelter located at Pine Street Community Center, 803 N. East Street in Victoria will be open overnight Monday, November 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., and Tuesday, November 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Weather conditions will dictate if the shelter is extended to Wednesday.
