Update: VCSO arrest man accused of theft, elder exploitation


The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Allen Hoelscher Wednesday afternoon months after he was charged with Property Theft and Exploitation of an Elder. According to court documents, on December 19th, 2017, Hoelscher tricked an elderly Victoria man into writing a cashier’s check in Hoelscher’s name worth $125,000. The presiding judge on his case order for his arrest on June 19th. His bond was set at $80,000.

In a separate case, Hoelscher was charged with Property Theft totaling more than $2500 but less than $30,000. Hoelscher allegedly stole jewelry worth more than $2500 from a Victoria woman. His bond was set at $30,000 in this case.

Hoelscher has posted bail and is now released from the Victoria County Jail. His next court date has not yet been scheduled.
