Update: Suspect arrested in multi-county police chase ending with car crash into trailer
BLOOMINGTON, Texas — Update 12/14/18
The Port Lavaca Police Department have arrested the suspect who lead officers on a multi-county chase before crashing into a trailer home.
27 year old Ryan James Hamil was arrested Thursday afternoon, the day after he lead officers on a late night car and foot chase.
Officials say James hit a driver in the parking lot of a McDonalds. When officers attempted to contact him, he refused and sped off to avoid arrest.
We reported Thursday, Hamil led officers from Calhoun to Victoria County before crashing into a home and escaping on foot.
Two officers were injured in the pursuit and treated for minor injuries.
Hamil has been charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle.
A car crashed into a trailer home in Bloomington after leading police on a chase from Port Lavaca Wednesday evening.
The chase began in Port Lavaca and the driver ran into a phone pole on Highway 185 near 1st Street and FM 616 in Bloomington causing power lines to fall into the highway.
The driver continued on before finally crashing into a trailer home.
The suspect got out of the car and fled on foot and officers were unable to locate him.
Victoria County Sheriff’s Office along with Victoria County Constable Precinct 1 and Texas DPS Troopers assisted at the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans. If you see someone matching that description in the area call 911.
