UPDATE: State Highway 119 has now opened

Officials encourage motorists to use alternate routes

UPDATE: As of 2:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, State Highway 119 remains closed in both directions a mile and a half into DeWitt County, according to the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office.

A tanker truck hauling propane overturned this afternoon. Although no propane spilled, crews may have to offload the fuel before the truck can be rolled over and towed.

Officials anticipate the highway to remain closed for several hours and encourage motorists to avoid the area and use an alternate route.

GOLIAD COUNTY, Texas – At approximately 1:12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office reported a tanker truck containing propane has rolled over on State Highway N. 119 and the DeWitt County Line.

Highway 119 was closed for several hours, but it has now been reopened.
