UPDATE: One-year-old toddler twin remains in San Antonio hospital

VICTORIA, Texas – Family members of a one-year-old toddler twin said the child remains in a San Antonio hospital today. The one-year-old turns two next month. 25 News Now obtained a photo of the child. Victoria police removed the twin toddlers from an apartment in the 4400 block of N. Navarro last Wednesday, May 4, 2022 around 5 p.m. Child Protective Services was also there investigating an open case on the children in that apartment.

Following the welfare check officers determined the twin toddlers were left home alone. After reviewing the children and their living environment, police arrested the mother. Kimberly Salas, 34, is charged with Abandoning or Endangering a Child: Bodily Injury and Physical Impairment, a second degree felony.
A family member responded to the apartment to take custody of the children who then sought medical treatment at a local hospital for the two toddlers. The other twin is in the care of another family member.
The mother remains at the Victoria County Jail.
