UPDATE: Injuries in train vs car crash

Update: Victoria County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a vehicle train accident Wednesday evening at about 5 PM.
The vehicle collision occurred on a Kansas City Southern Lines railroad crossing at Koelle street in Inez. This intersection did not have crossing gates, only a stop sign is visible. According to DPS spokesperson Ruben San Miguel, the black Toyota Tundra truck was driven by a female, identified as Amanda Page, age 33 and had three children passengers, ages 16, 10, and 9.

The family was leaving a nearby restaurant when the driver disregarded the railroad warning signs and was struck by the train. Two of the children sitting in the back seat did not have a seat belt and were ejected out of the vehicle.

One of the children was transported by a helicopter ambulance to University Hospital in San Antonio. The driver and the other 2 children were transported by EMS to Citizens Hospital in Victoria, however the driver, Amanda Page, was later transported via helicopter from Citizens Medical Hospital to University Hospital in San Antonio as well, says San Miguel.

All 4 involved are considered to be in serious condition.

A train hit a vehicle near Highway 59 in Inez. Newscenter 25’s Griselda Perez is on the scene and reports three people were in the vehicle and one person was transported via air ambulance to the hospital.
