Update: Former Constable Garza sentenced to one year in jail for official oppression
VICTORIA, Texas — Update 6/14/19:
The jury in the Jesse Garza trial has sentenced Garza to one year in jail for his role in the oppression of a Bloomington woman. Garza was found not guilty of Sexual Assault in a case dating back to 2017 but was found guilty of the lesser charge of oppression (“harassment”). Garza will also be forced to pay a $4,000 dollar fine.
A correction to the story was made 6/13/19 at 7 p.m.
The Jury has delivered a verdict in the trial between defendant, Jesse Garza, and the alleged sexual assault victim.
The Jury has found former Precinct 1 Constable, Jesse Garza, not guilty of sexual assault, and found guilty of a lesser charge of oppression (“harassment”).
