UPDATE: Couple involved in crash identified
Frank and Betty are receiving treatment for their injuries
VICTORIA, Texas – Authorities identified the couple involved in an ambulance-related crash.
The driver of the Chevy Traverse involved in the ambulance crash was identified as 79-year-old Franklin Roeder of Victoria, and the passenger was identified as 78-year-old Betty Roeder of Victoria.
On May 5, the Victoria Police Department and the Victoria Fire Department responded to a major crash at the intersection of North Main St. and Spring Creek Dr. A Chevy Traverse, occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Roeder, failed to yield the right of way hitting a Victoria Fire Department ambulance. The ambulance had three occupants.
Due to the impact, the ambulance left the roadway, went through a small field and came to rest in a pond.
As of Tuesday, both Franklin and Betty were in the hospital receiving treatment for their injuries.
