Ordonez reportedly stabbed his daughter and himself

UPDATE: The Amber Alert for 1-year-old Leylani Ordonez has been discontinued. According to the Rosenberg Police Department, the victim and suspect, Alexander Barrios Ordonez, the child’s father, have died.

The child’s father reportedly stabbed her and then himself after taking several law enforcement agencies on a chase overnight. Police say Ordonez was spotted in a stolen tow truck when the chase began. At approximately 6 p.m., Ordonez entered a business, stabbed a man and took his truck.

The pursuit ended when police used “spike strips” to stop Ordonez.

Police said Ordonez then exited the truck with the baby in his arms. The baby was bloody. Ordonez reportedly stabbed the baby, but authorities are unsure when she was injured.

After the car stopped, the man stabbed himself, police say.

Both were taken to a hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

ROSENBERG, Texas – A child abduction occurred in Rosenberg Tuesday night.

The victim is described as 1-year-old Hispanic girl Leylani Ordonez. She’s last seen wearing a red Whataburger onesie.

According to the Amber Alert, the suspect is Hispanic man Alexander Barrios Ordonez.  Ordonez is driving a green 2004 Ford F-450.
