UIL Requires Facial Coverings For Workouts
Change In UIL Rules From Workouts Round One
The UIL, making a big change in its summer workout guidelines for public school student-athletes.
The UIL, now requiring every student-athlete taking part in summer workouts to wear a facial covering.
Students may remove their facial coverings when actively exercising if they maintain at least six feet of distance between other students and staff who are not wearing face coverings. The next round of workouts start Monday. VISD athletic director Spencer Gantt told me the addition of the masks during workouts is a good step in moving forward. West football head coach Courtney Boyce told me he is fine with facial coverings, and that the Warriors will do the rules and think of everyone involved in health.
