UHV’s 14th annual Giving Tree to help local charities
The University of Houston-Victoria is continuing a 14-year tradition today to assist local charities.
“Giving back it follows through so if you give you get at the same time, said UHV Freshman Kevin Cortez.
University of Houston-Victoria students are getting in the spirit of the season by setting up a donation drive for Crossroads families and animals.
“Some things that we have we take that for granted so we should encourage one another to give back to the community and by doing that you could create a huge impact throughout the whole community,” said Cortez.
The two week donation campaign gives students, faculty, staff, and community members the chance to give items to local non-profit organizations.
“The people that receive it will be so grateful for what they have and what they get and maybe they will be motivated to give back to the community as well,” said Cortez.
The donation period runs until December 8th, and during that time community members may place unwrapped gifts under the tree in the UHV University Center lobby.
