UHV Women’s Soccer Starts Season 1-1

Jaguars Back Home Friday

UHV women’s soccer goes into its next home game 1-1 on the season.
The Jaguar women lost their opener last Saturday at the Cage to Oklahoma City, then came back on Labor Day to beat McPherson, 1-0, in the Metroplex. Kiki Hinojosa had the UHV goal, Amanda Bautista was in goal for the shutout and finished with two saves. I talked with her and teammate Monik Contreras about the team’s 1-1 start.

Said Bautista, “It was a great win. Ever since the first game every game that we’ve played we’ve peaked. We’re ready to continue peaking and we’re ready for this Friday. “

Said Contreras, “We did a pretty good job as to knowing who to play and just working together as a team.”

UHV men’s and women’s soccer host the University Of Science And Arts Of Oklahoma Friday afternoon at the Cage. Ladies’ game first at 1;00.
