UHV Women’s Soccer Looks For Improvement
Last Home Scrimmage Comes Friday
Victoria, Texas —
After earning their third Red River conference postseason berth in four years, UHV women’s soccer, ranked fourth in the conference pre-season poll.
Only four seniors are on the Jaguar women’s roster the year after going 7-4 in conference play before falling to LSUA in the Red River tourney quarterfinals. Last week they were outscored in their first scrimmage by UT-Rio Grande Valley. I asked two Jaguars how they felt about their performance.
Said center midfielder Nisa Ollivierre, “We did a lot of good things in this game. They were a top Division one team. We got a lot of good playing time for the freshmen coming in.”
Said center midfielder Hayden Janner, “We managed to hold our own against this team. It was a Division I team. We had to play strong against the team we were playing against and we managed to stay strong against the odds. “
UHV soccer’s final home preseason scrimmages come Friday afternoon against A&M-International. Ladies first at 1:00.
