UHV Women’s Soccer Gets Big Road Win 9-11

Jaguars At 2-2 For Season

UHV women’s soccer, now at .500 going into its next home game..
After losing at the Cage last Friday, the Jaguars won in Houston Sunday night over St. Thomas. Ariana Balderas and Elizabeth Reyes each scored goals in the win. Amanda Bautista had three saves in goal. I talked with her and teammate Daisy Contreras, who assisted on Balderas’ goal, about the team’s 1-1 week.

Said Bautista, “It feels amazing. It feels better when you beat a team when it’s their first home game. We’ve progressed. We learned from our mistakes and it definitely showed vs. St. Thomas. “

Said Contreras, “We improved a lot obviously since we won. It was a good opportunity to play a good opponent. We practiced hard and we put whatever we practiced into the game and we just took that win. “

UHV men’s and women’s soccer host Sul Ross State Friday afternoon at the Cage. Ladies’ game first at 1:00.
