UHV Women’s Golf Releases Spring Schedule
Jaguars Start In Early February
Victoria, Texas — The University of Houston-Victoria women’s golf team will have a busy spring schedule, one which includes at least six events.
Head coach Christi Cano today announced her spring schedule which tees off on Feb. 3-5 when the Jaguars participate in the Texas A&M-International Jack Brown Memorial Invitational in Laredo.
The tournament will serve as a warm-up to the annual UHV Claud Jacobs Collegiate Invitational scheduled for Feb. 16-18 at The Club at Colony Creek. The local tournament currently has nine teams committed to play in the 36-hole event.
The Jaguars will then play in the Bellevue University Spring Break Classic in San Antonio on March 7-9 and wrap up preparations for their conference tournament by competing in the Prairie View A&M Spring Invitational on March 18-19.
The squad will compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships on April 8-13 in Oklahoma City, with the winner earning an automatic qualifying bid to the NAIA National Championships on May 14-17.
The Jaguars are also schedule to once again compete at the PGA Minority Champion on May 8-13 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Competing for the Jaguars in the spring will be sophomores Jocelyn Villafranca, Leah Lerma, Mary Kate Krueger, Victoria Garcia, Viviana Puente and freshman Kelly Swanson.
