UHV womens golf finished out of the top ten
UHV golf team found better results on course
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma– The University of Houston-Victoria women’s golf team found better results on the course Tuesday, but were unable to make a move up the leaderboard finishing in 11th place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University at the Lincoln Park Golf Club.
UHV cut 11 shots of its opening round score posting a final round 318 to finish with a 647 in the two-day event. Oklahoma City claimed the team title with a 599, while Redlands Community College took second at 600 and Texas Wesleyan third with a 602.
Mia Lerma and Jenna Alvarado tied for 19th to pace the Jaguars as they each shot a pair of 77s for a two-day 154 total. Leah Lerma followed with an 85-83-168 and Jocelyn Villafranca tallied a 90-81-171.
The Jaguars next action will be May 3-4 when they host the Association of Independent Institutions Conference Championships at The Club at Colony Creek.
