UHV Student-Athletes Make Dean’s List

Success in the classroom for UHV student-athletes continued in the fall. 38 student-athletes were named to the 2016 UHV Fall President’s List and Dean’s List on Wednesday.

Nine student-athletes were named to the President’s List, while another 29 received recognition on the Dean’s List.

Earning recognition on the President’s List were softball players Madeline Herrera, Michelle Revels and Haley Beam, while soccer players Tristen Hanks, Megan Rangel, Yahajaira Lara, Lauren Leslie and Diogo Vieira joined the threesome along with baseball player Derek Maciejeski.

In all, 23 members of the men’s and women’s soccer teams were recognized, while seven baseball players, ,six softball players and two golfers received the semester academic honors.

Receiving recognition to the Dean’s List from the School of Arts and Sciences were Viviana Yzquierdo (golf), Treysi Diaz Deleon (soccer), Kelly Cook (soccer), Emily Flores (softball), Oladipo Akintunde (soccer), Chase Almendarez (baseball), Maya Ballez (soccer), Amber Zola (soccer), Kathryn Wright (softball), Chase O’Brien (soccer), Ben Taylor (soccer) and William Thurmond (baseball).

Named to the Dean’s List from the School of Business Administration were Collin Schaaf (baseball), Mark Lopez (baseball), Jaiden Lauterbach (soccer), Juan Vega (soccer), Kaylee Creagh (soccer), Shelbi Vincent (golf), Jordyn Olle (soccer), Andrew Richards (baseball), Ivan Martinez (soccer), Brian Foulger (soccer), Blake Henneke (baseball), Jordan Hoefling (softball), Emily Lupton (soccer), Brody Patience (soccer) and Jonathan Pitts (soccer).

Students named to the Dean’s List from the School of Education, Health Professions and Human Development were Marco Alanis (soccer) and Caroline Carvajal (soccer).

The President’s List honors undergraduates who earn a 4.0 grade-point average on all work completed during the fall semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, undergraduates must earn at least a 3.5 GPA.

The recognitions are awarded each fall and spring semester. A minimum of nine semester hours, excluding courses in which grades of “Satisfactory” were earned, is required. Any students who earn a grade of “unsatisfactory,” “Incomplete,” D or F during the semester is excluded from consideration.
