UHV Sports Wins NAIA Award

For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Houston-Victoria Sports Information Department has been recognized for its works by the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association.

UHV Sports Information Specialist Paul Ebner and UHV Marketing and Communications Graphic Designer George Rodriguez were recently recognized by the NAIA-SIDA at the annual CoSIDA convention in the organization’s publications and media contest.

The duo earned first and third place in the Walter Alexander single-sports schedule card contest, tied for seventh in the single-sport posters contest and placed eighth in the multi-sports posters contest. The duo also placed first last year in the single-sports schedule cards contest, along with a second-place finish.

“It’s always an honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Ebner. “We have a great working relationship with our marketing and communications department and George does a super job working with us on our many graphic projects throughout the year.”

In the past, the UHV sports information department has been recognized with awards for multi-sport schedule card design, schedule poster design and work on its media guides in baseball, softball and soccer.

“The quality of work produced by Paul Ebner and George Rodriguez and the rest of the marketing team we work with is unsurpassed,” said UHV Athletics Director Ashley Walyuchow. “I think this goes to show how well our departments work together.

“I’m proud of the recognition they bring to athletics and UHV.”

UHV competes against all NAIA schools in the NAIA SID publications and media contest.
