UHV Softball Starts Fall Practice 9-9
13 Players Return From Last Season
Victoria, Texas —
Monday brought the first day of fall workouts for UHV softball.
The last time the Jaguars hit the field back in May, they were coming just one win short of making the NAIA Softball World Series. 13 players return from the Red River Conference regular season champions. They include Ashley Reyna, a National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s NAIA All-Region second team pick; first team All-Conference picks Emily Flores and Kelsey Tidrick, along with Marissa Longoria, Angel Davidson, Cheyenne Galindo, and Jackie Longoria. Our Sean Coffey talked with UHV softball on its first day of fall workouts about how excited they are to get back to work.
Said Flores, “I think it’s a great note to leave off on. We’re hungry, it made us even more hungry for this season. And we’re super excited to see what we’re gonna put out on the field. “
Said Tidrick, “We are super excited, super hungry. I can see the potential in this team, not only because I know how strong our senior staff is. The newcomers that are coming in seem like they’re headstrong and ready to work for what they have to earn.”
Said Longoria “We did lose some key players, but for the most part this team is pretty mature. So we have an idea of what to expect and what to do when we’re in that same position.”
