UHV softball splits doubleheader with LSU-Alexandria
UHV loses game one 4-2; wins game two 2-0
VICTORIA, TX- The UHV Jaguars softball team had a doubleheader at home at the Victoria Sports Complex taking on the LSU-Alexandria Generals splitting the series.
In game one, UHV would fall short with a final score of 4-2. For the Jaguars, Alexis Gonzales and Claire Blinka both had an RBI. Gonzalez, hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning to bring in a run and in the fourth inning Lopez also hit a sacrifice fly to bring in their final run of the game. Alexi Wade started on the pitching circle for UHV giving up three runs.
In game two, the Jaguars are able to pull away with the win, and shut out the Generals 2-0. Cameron Steen pitched for the Jaguars allowing no runs and just six hits. Alexis Gonzalez had an RBI single and Secilia Lopez singled to left for an RBI. Both runs came in the second inning and were the only runs of the game.
